USP Talk: What To Do With The Bicentennial? by Prof Tan Tai Yong

USP invites Prof Tan Tai Yong, President and Professor of Humanities (History) at Yale-NUS College, for an interesting sharing on “What do to with the Bicentennial?”.

Singapore will commemorate the Bicentennial this year, marking the 200th anniversary of the landing of Stamford Raffles in 1819. The Bicentennial provokes a number of questions about Singapore’s history, and how we relate to that history. Professor Tan (also an Advisory Panel Member for the Singapore Bicentennial Office) will address some history questions in this session.
