USP Fellows: Dinner Conversation with A/P John Holbo
This is part of the series of “Dinner Conversations” aimed at encouraging USP students to explore new horizons of work by interacting with USP Fellows over dinner. Each session will consist of one Fellow and three to five students. Locating the Middle East beyond Aladdin and Osama bin Laden by Ms Koh Choon Hwee
This is an interactive lecture focused on dispelling common stereotypes about the Middle East and teaching young Singaporeans how to approach Anglophone news coverage about current conflicts plaguing the region. An alumna of NUS FASS who had also studied at the USP, she completed her masters in Lebanon, where she lived for two years, volunteered in the West Bank, and has studied in Delhi, Damascus and Tehran. Currently, she is working on her PhD in Middle East History in the US.
