CKC–USP Summer Seminar 2019: Strategic Leadership, Innovation and Society
In its 2019 pilot run, the CKC–USP Summer Seminar comprised of two segments – the Overseas Leg as well as the Singapore Leg.
The Overseas Leg to Hangzhou which took place from 19 to 27 May 2019, engaged a total of 24 students from CKC, USP and NUS. Besides attending the lectures conducted by leading CKC professors (Prof Wu Xiaobo, Prof Bao Aimin, Prof Wang Liming, Prof Ren Kui, Prof Zhu Tianbiao and Prof Zhu Renmin), the 9 NUS and USP students also had the opportunity to visit several cultural and historical sites in Hangzhou, such as the West Lake. At the end of the trip in China, CKC and USP students worked in teams of four to five to complete a presentation.
In the Singapore Leg which took place from 21 to 28 July 2019, the same group of USP and NUS students who attended the trip to Hangzhou hosted the same group of CKC students. The students from both institutions attended the seminars conducted by Dr Aaron Maniam, Prof Hang Chang Chieh, Dr Lai Ah Eng, Prof Chai Kah Hin, Prof Hanry Yu, Prof Kishore Mahbubani and Prof Tok Eng Soon. The 15 CKC students also visited the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, the Mechanobiology Institute as well as the Marina Barrage as part of their programme itinerary in Singapore.
