Financial Aid & Scholarships

To help students defray the cost of staying and studying at University Town, as well as in recognition of outstanding academic achievements, leadership qualities and special talents, we have in place the following Residential College (RC) and USP financial aid initiatives and scholarships:

Residential College (RC) Bursaries

What

These financial aid initiatives are available to NUS undergraduate students who are residing at one of the residential colleges in UTown and reading the University Town College Programme (UTCP) or the University Scholars Programme (USP).

Please apply via the NUS Office of Financial Aid 

In addition to the above, students may consider applying from the comprehensive range of financial assistance schemes and scholarships that NUS offers. The financial aid offered may comprise a combination of study loans, bursary, and work-study assistance, depending on the extent of the student's level of financial needs assessed based on declared family income and mitigating factors. Please refer to the NUS Office of Financial Aid (OFA) website for more information.

Please note that the categories of bursaries and scholarships available to USP students residing at the USP residential college will differ from year to year. Please also be advised that in line with the University's guidelines, students may not concurrently be in receipt of scholarships, bursaries, grants and awards without prior permission from the University. What

Student Assistance Fund – USP Residence
The Student Assistance Fund – USP Residence is intended to help USP students who are in need of financial assistance to defray the costs of meal plan subscription while staying at the USP residential college, Cinnamon College.

Tan Chew Char Grant for Social Sciences
The Tan Chew Char Grant for Social Sciences is for current USP students in need of financial assistance who are Singaporean Citizens and from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, majoring in the Social Sciences (with preference for Psychology, Social work or Sociology). Students who are considered for the Tan Chew Char Grant will be requested to submit a CV via hardcopy or email to Scholarships and Grants @USP, detailing their voluntary service in a voluntary welfare organization preferably with a local nursing home, hospice or orphanage or initiated community or school events to raise awareness during their course of study.

*Please note that applicants need not be residing at Cinnamon College to be eligible.

Applications for RC Scholarships for USP students have been subsumed under the RC Scholarship Application Portal. No separate application to USP is required. Applicants shortlisted for the selection interview will be notified via email.

What
