Permaculture@USP is unique programme in USP which explores environmental issues through evening workshops, dumpster diving, forest school and even an overseas trip. If you have an insatiable curiosity for sustainable living, bio-mimicry, systems thinking, urban farming and anything green, drop by this info night to find out more about the programme from the coordinator himself, USP alum Alexius Yeo (Geography + USP, Class of 2010). No pre-requisites for the programme except being (or have been) a USP student and a curious mind for nature.

Creative Writing Workshop – ‘A Very Human Way of Making Life More Bearable’: The Art of Fiction
This semester, USP has invited an experienced instructor, Dr Yeo Wei Wei, to conduct a creative writing workshop for USP students. Every Thursday, starting this 29 Aug, this workshop will allow students to discover the truth of Kurt Vonnegut’s statement (he describes creative writing as ‘a very human way of making life more bearable’) and provides an introduction to the fundamentals of writing fiction – short stories and novels.

Organised by USP Career Services, this workshop is run by USP alum Joel Lam (Philosophy + USP, Class of 2016), currently a regional strategy analyst at MasterCard, who is passionate to share with his USP juniors on career planning. He will touch on identifying synergies and skill gaps to build a roadmap towards your desired job, and using frameworks to change your perspectives on viewing and growing your career meaningfully. Every year, we invite the parents of all USP students to our premises for an evening together. It is an opportunity for parents and the USP community to share information and ideas about USP’s development. Intercultural Exchanges Through Theatre Fieldtrip
Led by USP faculty member Dr Miguel Escobar Varela, USP students will be travelling to Yogyakarta, Indonesia as part of their USP module UAR2207 Intercultural Exchanges Through Theatre. In this trip, students will learn to enjoy the traditional performing arts of Java by making puppets and playing music, and they will use theatre improvisation techniques to sharpen their intercultural awareness.
