Organised by the University Scholars Club (USC), USP Freshmen Orientation Programme aims to integrate USP freshmen into our community as the new academic year approaches. The freshmen will be exposed to the wide range of opportunities that USP provides and the diversity of people here in USP. They will, hopefully, be encouraged to get involved, shape, and develop our community. As the centrepiece event of the Singapore Bicentennial, The Sessions has organised a visit “The Bicentennial Experience” exhibition which promises participants a multi-sensory and theatrical exploration of Singapore history at Fort Canning Park. Following the visit, participants will also have the opportunity to interact with Mr Gene Tan, Executive Director of the Singapore Bicentennial Office.

We Will Dance 2019
Organised by USP students, We Will Dance 2019 is back on 24 August at Cinnamon College (USP). Join us at this fourth iteration of Singapore’s first 10-hour charity dance marathon where funds raised will support educational opportunities at Autism Association Singapore, SPD’s Learning and Development Centre, and USP Student Assistance Fund. Creative Writing Workshop – ‘A Very Human Way of Making Life More Bearable’: The Art of Fiction
This semester, USP has invited an experienced instructor, Dr Yeo Wei Wei, to conduct a creative writing workshop for USP students. Every Thursday, starting this 29 Aug, this workshop will allow students to discover the truth of Kurt Vonnegut’s statement (he describes creative writing as ‘a very human way of making life more bearable’) and provides an introduction to the fundamentals of writing fiction – short stories and novels.
