Migrant Labour in Singapore: COVID-19 and its Aftermath
Online: via ZoomJoin this conversation with USP faculty Dr Leung Wing Sze, three USP students and four invited speakers – Debbie Fordcye (President of Transient Workers Count Too (TWC2)), Mayrhose Coronado (a self-taught and award-winning photographer who worked in Singapore as a domestic helper), Zakir Hossain Khokon (a construction supervisor and freelance journalist) and Madhavan Ramasamy (a construction site engineer and a poet) – as they look at various issues and difficulties migrant workers in Singapore have experienced during and after the COVID-19 lockdown, as well as the treatment they deserve. Three USP students – Vera Khoo, Tan Jun Jie and Justin Quek – will also present findings from their research during the session.
