Visit to USP: Student Delegation from Chu Kochen Honors College, Zhejiang University

Hosted by USP, a group of student delegation from Chu Kochen Honors College, Zhejiang University will be visiting USP and NUS from 2-4 October 2018. They will be introduced to USP and NUS by attending three sample classes by USP faculty members, touring around USP and UTown, and visiting the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum at NUS. Sample Class 1 Evolution: Human origins by Dr Hwang Wei Song Summary: The evolutionary history of our own human species is currently undergoing major revisions as new discoveries in unexpected localities are made in recent years. This sample class will make use of a comparative morphology approach to gather information using hominid skulls to understand how we can piece together the lives of past and present species. We will examine the connections between morphological form and function and attempt to make phylogenetic inferences given the information gathered.
