SUMMARY:QR Centre Talk: The Relationship Between Sleep and Memory
DESCRIPTION:Organised by the Quantitative Reasoning (QR) Centre\, this talk centres on how we process new information when we sleep and how it is integrated with our existing memories. There are many different types of memory and sleep is believed to benefit the overall consolidation of memory. However\, recently it has been found that in some cases\, certain memories are processed preferentially over others during sleep. Explore the relationship between sleep and memory consolidation\, and examine data on which types of memories may be processed during sleep.
