SUMMARY:Locating the Middle East beyond Aladdin and Osama bin Laden by Ms Koh Choon Hwee
DESCRIPTION:This is an interactive lecture focused on dispelling common stereotypes about the Middle East and teaching young Singaporeans how to approach Anglophone news coverage about current conflicts plaguing the region. An alumna of NUS FASS who had also studied at the USP\, she completed her masters in Lebanon\, where she lived for two years\, volunteered in the West Bank\, and has studied in Delhi\, Damascus and Tehran.
