#NUSBeyond Campaign – Passion and Purpose, Unveiled
USP student Loraine Choo (Economics + USP, Class of 2020) has a keen interest in social issues and community development. This Chua Thian Poh Community Leadership Centre student fellow and Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) Local Merit Scholar did two summer internship stints at MSF and even volunteered under the NUS Rotaract Club to help the underprivileged in Singapore. Loraine seized the opportunity to go for student exchange programme under USP International Programmes at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, to broaden her perspectives. As a USP ambassador, she is passionate in sharing her USP journey to prospective students at USP outreach sessions.

USP alum Lim Qing Ru (Philosophy + USP, Class of 2008) is featured in NUS Admissions campaign this year. After her start-up Zopim was acquired by Zendesk, this co-founder of Zopim now pays it forward to charities and by investing in and mentoring young, budding technopreneurs.

USP alum Kwa Chin Soon (Civil Engineering + USP, Class of 2010) is featured in NUS Admissions Campaign this year. He is currently a Senior Assistant Director (Infrastructure Division) at Ministry of National Development. Be inspired by Chin Soon’s innate curiosity and fascination with the art of crafting and building, which then sparked his interest in civil engineering.
