USP alum Betty Tsai (Chemical Engineering + USP, Class of 2012) has gained a place in the Asian Scientist 100 list 2017 edition. To gain a spot on the list, the honoree must have received a national or international prize in the last two years for his or her scientific research through competitive selection, made a significant contribution in scientific discovery, or displayed leadership that has benefitted either academia or industry.

In this 2017 edition, Asian Scientist celebrates 100 scientists, innovators and leaders who have contributed in significant ways to Asia’s science and technology landscape. Under the Engineering category (#47 in the list), Betty – who works with Procter & Gamble (P&G) – was recognised for her research on the innovation process behind skincare consumer products. This won her the Institution of Chemical Engineers’ 2016 Young Chemical Engineer in Industry Award – this achievement was previously covered in USP Achievements.
