Two USP students Kee Qian Ling (Engineering Science Programme + USP, Class of 2022) and Chang Jing Wen Celeste (BIZ + USP, Class of 2022) are among the six recipients of the new NUS bond-free Stephen Riady Young Entrepreneur Scholarship. This scholarship is specially conceived to support outstanding students who aspire to be entrepreneurs and are keen to develop their entrepreneurial skills. This was made possible by a gift from Dr Stephen Riady, an Executive Chairman of OUE Limited and renowned philanthropist. Read more about the scholarship here.

Featured in the NUSNews and The Straits Times, Qian Ling shared, “I’m super grateful for this opportunity and I’m looking forward to making an impact in the world!” Passionate about entrepreneurship and technology, she has participated in various competitions, and has won the MIT App Inventor Most Innovative App of the Month Award in January 2016 and Best Social Impact Award at the Youth Innovation Challenge 2017.

Celeste expressed, “The Stephen Riady Young Entrepreneur Scholarship reminds me of my commitment towards entrepreneurship and I am thankful for the trust and opportunity that the school [NUS] has bestowed upon me. Entrepreneurship takes many forms and I am excited to find out the new ventures I will explore in the future.”

Congrats, Qian Ling and Celeste, our budding entrepreneurs! We hope you will make good of this scholarship. Have the courage to make things happen.

Interestingly, USP faculty A/P Barbara Ryan was part of the 2017 EBFP judging panel. We are glad that our USP community are contributing actively to, and making an impact in the literary scene in Singapore.

Congrats, ladies and all the best for the final results!
