Brief Introduction

Dr Edmund Low is currently a Senior Lecturer at the University Scholars Programme (USP) at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He has taught courses on environmental engineering, data science & health and safety. He currently heads the Quantitative Reasoning domain, and was formerly director of the Quantitative Reasoning Centre, at USP.

Dr Low has nearly 20 years of academic and professional experience in the use of computational modelling and data-driven tools, applying them to solve problems in public health, water resource management and air quality in buildings. He holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from Yale University.

Dr Low teaches in the domains of Quantitative Reasoning Foundation and Sciences and Technologies. He offers the following modules:

Research Interests

  • Application of engineering principles and biotechnology tools to study environmental and human health issues
  • Use of aerosol dispersion modeling to investigate air quality issues
  • Study of pollutant sources, fate and transport of pollutants and remediation strategies for Singapore watersheds
  • Application of hydrological and ecological modeling in impact assessment of anthropogenic activities and climate change on the environment
