Snack Empire Holdings Limited, co-founded by USP alum Daniel Tay (Economics + USP, Class of 2003), was one of only six Singaporean companies to make it to the prestigious Forbes Asia’s Best Under A Billion list with a market value approximating US$23 million (S$31.3 million) – Wow, amazing!

The Forbes list highlights 200 publicly-listed small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Asia Pacific region with sales under US$1 billion. Daniel’s company was selected for its consistent top- and bottom-line growth, showcasing track records of stellar corporate performance.

A food and beverage group offering Taiwanese snacks and beverages under the Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks brand, Snack Empire is the hard work of Daniel and a good friend, who got together after they both graduated from NUS in 2003 to start a business with a vision to bring authentic Taiwanese street food to Singapore. Since 2003, their business has grown tremendously and has today close to 250 outlets in 4 countries. In 2019, they successfully listed their business as Snack Empire on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

We are immensely proud of USP alums like Daniel with the can-do spirit. Daniel has shown great courage and tenacity as an entrepreneur, so congrats from all for us for the well-earned accolade!
