Hardcopy or email applications will no longer be accepted. The USP Office will carefully evaluate your proposal/grant application, and if it is deemed to be of merit, you can be assured of advisory, administrative and partial financial support. - Information on study or research opportunity
- what, when, where etc; please include information that will help gauge intellectual merit and relevance, and prestige;
- Personal statement (of 500 words), addressing in particular the following questions:
- How did you come to know about this opportunity?
- What will be your involvement?
- What do you expect to gain from this experience?
- Letter of recommendation
- one confidential letter, from either USP advisor or departmental independent study/research supervisor, to comment on student’s preparedness and learning attitude, intellectual merit and relevance of the opportunity, and the extent to which applicant can gain from the experience;
- Itemized list of expenses & evidence of cost
- please attach either original receipts/invoices, screen shots or itinerary for airfare, accommodation, registration fee;
- Evidence of external fundraising and actual external funds obtained;
- Amount requested from USP;
- Letter of invitation/acceptance from event organizer
- Copy of the conference/research paper you will be presenting; if applicable
USP Student Activity Grant Applications should be submitted well in advance (at least 2 to 3 months prior to the project/event) to allow sufficient time for proper organization from the point of approval. Documents to be submitted - Latest Transcripts
- Particulars of the activity
- what, when, where, why, as well as organization plan with timeline, attributes and number of targeted participants, benefit to USP etc;
- Brief account of groundwork done
- before arriving at the proposal (i.e., issues/alternatives you have considered/explored, please limit to 1 A4 page);
- Detailed budget and evidence of cost
- original receipt, screen shot or sales document
- Fundraising plan
- Group members names and details
- Amount requested from USP
- Copies of relevant correspondences
- with external agencies/organizations and/or advisors, if applicable.
* Please allow 3 weeks for approval and processing. Please note that ALL REQUESTED DOCUMENTS (as mentioned on each individual Grant Application Form) must be submitted online. ** Incomplete applications will NOT be accepted and processed.
