Student Exchange Programme

Introduction

Aimed to enrich students with learning experiences in a totally different educational, social, and cultural environment, the University Scholars Programme (USP) strongly encourages students to participate in the Student Exchange Programme (SEP).

Through SEP participation, you have the opportunity to get fresh perspectives on and alternative approaches to learn the subjects you study, experience new cultures and different ways of living, meet friends from around the world and travel to places you've only read about. By stepping out of Singapore, students on exchange can explore new vistas and enhance their intellectual, leadership, and personal potential in exciting and unpredictable ways.

USP offers its students exclusive exchange programmes with various partner universities. You can choose to participate in these special tie-ups (see SEP Application) or in the university-wide exchanges at other universities throughout Asia and Australia, Europe and the United Kingdom, and Canada and the United States.

One of the special tie-up is with the Peking University (PKU), which provides opportunities for USP students and PKU’s Yuanpei Programme students to interact and study alongside. Through this Yuanpei-USP Cultural Immersion programme, USP students read modules on Chinese history, culture, society and economy, and participate in a one-year student exchange to PKU.

USP also welcomes incoming international students who are in NUS on exchange from their home countries. International Students who are studying here at NUS may wish to register for modules in USP. For more information, visit For Incoming Exchange Students. The exchange of ideas and perspectives among students from around the world – whether in an overseas context or right here at USP – contributes to the vibrancy and diversity of our community.
