Ways to Give
No gift is too small, and we will be sincerely grateful to receive yours.
We have three existing funds to which you can consider giving your support to. There is the “USP Residence Grant” Fund that helps financially challenged students to defray the cost of living at the USP residential college. Then there is the “USP International Programmes Fund” – initiated by our alumni from the Class of 2015 – to help deserving USP students to further subsidise the cost of participating in international programmes in USP. If you do not wish to support a specific area in USP, you may choose to contribute to the “USP General Fund” which enables our USP Director to channel resources to where it is most needed. Just click on one or more of the three boxes below to begin giving us your support.
At the same time, we are extremely grateful when we have donors who give in the form of setting up grants or scholarships. Here are two such donors who are NUS alumni:
- Dr Freddie Tan made a gift of $50,000 to NUS to establish a grant in memory of his late grandfather, Mr Tan Chew Char. Named Tan Chew Char Grant for Social Sciences, the grant supports financially challenged current USP students residing at Cinnamon College who are Singaporean Citizens and from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, majoring in Psychology, Social Work or Sociology and volunteer/have volunteered in local nursing home, hospice, or orphanage during their course of study.
- Mr Foo Jixun and his wife, Mdm Serene Siar made a gift of $160,000 to set up the USP Scholarship: Jixun and Serene Scholarship, with the hope to help nurture USP students who can navigate the connectivity not just “between different knowledges and subjects, but also between different cultures and communities.” Bond-free, it is available to outstanding USP students who are Singaporeans or Permanent Residents.
If we wish to support USP in similar or other ways, we will be very happy to meet with you to discuss.
