USP-3D

A group of USP students came together to form a new Ground-up Initiative (GUI), USP^3D, to share the joy of art and creation through 3D printing. For a recent project they embarked on, the students used the USP 3D printers to create cute little plant pots and hand-painted each pot painstakingly. We learnt that the creative process was rather long – it took 17 students three weeks to finish printing and painting all the pots – of course, this was while they were juggling classes and other commitments. It wasn’t just for fun, as they successfully raised over $600 by selling these pots to the USP community at $10 per pot. This sum was then donated to the USP Student Assistance Fund – such an amazing (heart) work!

Kudos to USP^3D and all USP students who are incredibly talented and always thinking of ways to come together to do meaningful things for the community! It is through moments like this that we learn to appreciate our diverse yet closely-knit community 🙂

NUS Office of Student Affairs interviewed the students and wrote an article on this initiative – read HERE.
