USP Faculty Members Awarded at the NUS Teaching Awards 2021
Four USP faculty members were honoured at the NUS Teaching Awards for Academic Year 2020/2021. They are:
Dr Edmund Low
Awarded the Annual Teaching Excellence Awards (ATEA) and placed on the Honour Roll (2022-2026) for having attained the ATEA award three times. At USP, Dr Low teaches in the domains of Quantitative Reasoning (QR) Foundation, and Sciences and Technologies.
A/P Tok Eng Soon
He was awarded the Annual Teaching Excellence Award. At USP, A/P Tok teaches in the domain of Sciences and Technologies, “UPC2206 Nanoscale Science and Technology” – for which he received the USP Teaching Excellence Award in 2015 and 2016.
Dr Bart Van Wassenhove
He was awarded the Annual Teaching Excellence Award. At USP, Dr Van Wassenhove teaches in the domains of Writing and Critical Thinking and Humanities and Social Sciences.
A/P Loy Hui Chieh
He was awarded the Annual Digital Education Award (ADEA). A/P Loy is recognised for his teaching that has positively contributed to students’ learning through thoughtful integration of appropriate technology. No less worthy of a mention (and in case you missed the earlier announcement!), A/P Ho Han Kiat was awarded the Outstanding Educator Award at the NUS University Awards 2020, for having made exceptional contributions to students’ learning and the University through his teaching achievements and educational leadership. Beyond teaching at USP and the Department of Pharmacy, A/P Ho will also take up an important leadership position at NUS, as the Dean of Students come 1 September 2021.
