USP Alum Aspires to Be A Clinician, Admitted to Duke-NUS Medical School
USP alum Goh Si Wei (Biomedical Engineering + USP, Class of 2015) has gained a spot at Duke-NUS Medical School to pursue the Doctor of Medicine (MD) programme for the next four years. He recently attended the White Coat Ceremony for Class of 2023 on 2 August 2019 – a traditional ceremony for medical students which symbolises their entry into the profession of medicine, an important defining moment for first year medical students.
Si Wei who previously worked as a research officer at A*STAR’s Genome Institute of Singapore, shared in an email interview that USP has played an important role in shaping his aspiration as a clinician. “I learnt to be curious about different domains through multidisciplinary learning and more importantly, to be curious about people and their narratives. As healthcare becomes increasingly complex, the USP values of being critical, courageous, and engaged will serve me well in the journey ahead.”
We are very happy for Si Wei and wish him the very best for his studies!
