Three Inspiring USP Alums Recognised for Making an Impact in the Community
Three inspiring USP alums received recognition for their hardwork and significant contributions in their field of work. They are:
Madhumitha Ardhanari (Political Science + USP, Class of 2014), Senior Sustainability Strategist at Forum for the Future
She pursued her Masters in Inequalities and Social Science at London School of Economics and Political Science. Her dissertation titled “Sand extractivism and its inequalities: Elite scripts in the Singaporean demand for sand” received top recognition for LSE Saw Swee Hock Southeast Asia Centre UK Postgraduate Dissertation Prize. Fadhilah Abdul Rahman Zamawi (Accountancy + USP, Class of 2014), Partnerships Manager at Generation Singapore (a non-profit founded by McKinsey & Company)
She received the prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship to study Masters in Public Policy at University of Oxford. Being the youngest recipient for this batch (only three successful recipients!), Fadhilah is truly an inspiration to many and a deserving recipient for her extensive work experience at Generation Singapore and prior to that, at McKinsey & Company, as well as her volunteer work at MENDAKI. We are very happy for Fadhilah and wish her the very best for her studies starting this September!
She was featured in malay news Berita Harian and radio station Warna 94.2FM (USP was mentioned at 3.40min).
Goh Huishan Aprilene (English Language + USP, Class of 2010), Primary School Teacher
She was recognised at the May Day Awards 2021 with the Partner of Labour Movement award for her dedication and commitment to making sure voices are heard. During her time in USP, she co-founded the “Save That Pen” initiative – supported by Young NTUC – with her USP friends, which she continues to be involved actively in today. This affiliation to Young NTUC exposed Huishan to union work and prompted her to join the Singapore Teachers’ Union where she is currently serving as the Assistant General Secretary. Read more here.
Congrats to these three outstanding ladies! What an inspiration they are for our younger generation of USP students, to always be curious in thought, engaged with the community and have the courage to pursue excellence in what you choose to do.
